THE BEGINNING OF FIRST NICK PAINTING

First Nick Painting Company was started in the early 1980’s by Nicolaos Kritikos Sr. in Somerville, Massachusetts. He immigrated to America from Greece.

To earn a living, he became a residential painting contractor. Painting residential interiors and exteriors were the only services he provided. His customers, homeowners, loved him for all his hard work & efforts.

THE SECOND GENERATION OF FIRST NICK PAINTING

In early 2000’s, Kosta Kritikos, the oldest Kritikos son, officially got involved in the family business.  Kosta worked side by side with his father to learn what it means to be a good painter and run a good painting company. Kosta had his start working in the office while his father worked out in the field. Kosta then moved to the field to learn as much as possible about all aspects of the painting trade.

It was at that point that Kosta began to see a different vision for the company.

He envisioned growing the company beyond what his father could imagine.  Kosta believed the future lay in leaving the residential painting market and devoting 100% of the business to commercial projects.  The company’s hard work and efforts in providing residential customers a finished product and service led him to believe they could do the same in the commercial markets.  He knew this was not going to be easy, however his vision, passion, and drive allowed him to succeed.

In 2014, Nicolaos Kritikos Jr.,  Kosta’s brother, joined the team.

Kosta believed for the success to happen, bringing someone into the business that saw, understood and felt that same vision was necessary. What better way to achieve this than to have his brother by his side to continue the same family values with which they were raised.

TODAY AT FIRST NICK COMPANIES

In 2016 the painting company officially transitioned to the sons. Today it is owned and run by Kosta and his brother Nick, Jr. First Nick Companies continues to grow and expand with its original values, vision, and mission.

Family, one of Kosta’s biggest values, continues to be important for he and the company.  Without the love and support and strength he gets from his family none of this would be possible. Kosta believes that family is everything and that family is the BIGGEST ASSET you have.  The company’s success would not be happening without the support and love from his wife, kids, parents, and siblings.

Kosta relies on his “2nd  Family”, the employees at First Nick Companies. They are a huge part of what we do day in and day out.  Without each and every one of them doing their part none of this would be possible.

Today we are pleased to say we are “First Nick Companies”!

We have expanded in the commercial painting markets and are now growing in the commercial finished carpentry markets.

Our goal is to continue to be there for our clients and customers. All the services we perform are to make sure that our customers’ needs are exceeded. We believe that building relationships, between First Nick and with our customers, is the backbone to creating a future for everyone at First Nick Companies for generations to come.
